* I keep getting a "QApplication::notify: Unexpected null receiver" message whenever I type the "kdvi lab1.dvi" command, which then allows me to type, yet none of the commands (besides "Ctrl C") will work. Thus, I am going back and forth, looking at what the previous command did, then having to exit out of the viewing window to run another code. To view again, I have to rerun the kdvi command. Is there something else I can do so that I don't have to go back and forth? ** First, make sure you have the '''&''' after the '''kdvi lab1.dvi''' part so you still have control over the terminal. Second, with respect to the null receiver issue - that will happen on occasion. Just wait a bit for it to go away and the kdvi window will come up. If you made sure to add the '''&''' to it, you can now re-run '''latex lab1.tex''' and, when done processing, the kdvi window will update as well.
