Introduction
Hello. My name is Neica Joseph, pronounced "Nay-kuh Jo-seph."
Background
I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on February 23, 2xxx. I moved to the states after the 2010 Haitian earthquake, and I've been living in the States for a little over nine years now. I am proud to be in the Duke Class of 2023. I am going to be majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Economics.
Likes/Interests
I love jigsaw puzzles, cooking, eating, and enjoy going out for walks (but I don't like the outdoors). I'm a cat person. I want to participate in research here at Duke, but that's something to figure out for another day. I love a good Korean drama, and I spend most of my free time (which will very soon be nonexistent) watching them or just cruising Netflix. I don't have any allergies, but for some reason I cannot stand cottage cheese because of the instant gag reflex that I get whenever I try to ingest it.
Expectations at Duke
I'm ready to kick off the school year, find out my strengths and weaknesses, make a close group of friends, discover myself, and mostly find out about the research and study-abroad opportunities that Duke has to offer. I hope that EGR103 can help me develop skills in Python and MATLAB that I will be able to use throughout my career.
Engineering Grand Challenge
